This extra large tet is from SWALLOWTAIL KITE × VICTORIAN DAYS. It is quite fertile and the seedlings show various throat patterns. It is not a UF but behaves like a huge flat open in your face flower just like its namesake. The silver eyezones it breeds are very nice, too. It is a constant 7" x 28". The semi evergreen to dormant foliage is wide and full. It sports 3 top branches and there is much green in the throat most of the day. It has a double edge but it is not prominent. The silver shadings add to the cool shady appearance.

This UFO measures about 8 inches, and has been drawing a great deal of attention at Carl Harmon's garden the past four years. 5 to 6 way branching, 20 to 24 buds. Pod and pollen fertile. This was a fun cross, partly to test the pod fertility of the enormous Jerry's Whirligig, and partly to see what happens in the way of large offspring; like Jerry's Whirligig, Vanilla Gorilla has wide petals in a cascade form: it reminds me of knuckle walking with the massive arms of a gorilla. Now, you could say some daylilies knuckle walk because the scapes fall, but Vanilla Gorilla's scapes stay upright; (Jerry's Whirligig * Magic Of Oz)

No Blooms
DOR
Frank Kropf permitted Iron Gate Gardens to introduce this cultivar. Certainly ther is nothing like it! The bloom scapes rise from the plant - but there are no blooms, only round mounds of proliferations! Being grass green and very unkept, you will understand why it is an arrangers delight. These interesting green balls of miniature foliage last well into the fall, when most daylilies has stopped blooming. This will certainly be one of the highlights in your daylily collection. You "may" see a "real" bloom, but only on rare occasions, about 3 inches, rusty orange rose and narrow petaled. Foliage height is good for the front of the border. WIGGED OUT makes small plants; (Unknown X Unknown)
