Kennedy-Cochenour Daylilies
2025 Update

Looking back on 2024, last summer's bloom season was jam-packed with garden events, and I am looking forward to a more leisurely pace for 2025. Highlights from 2024 include being a Region 3 summer meeting tour garden for the first time and being visited by the PlantPop film crew for their upcoming documentary about daylilies. Getting the garden ready for visitors and filming meant lots of weeding, mulching and deadheading. Luckily, I had help from my daylily club and from my good friend Melodye Campbell who stayed with me for three days during the Region 3 tour. I coudn't have done it without all my helpers.

Another highlight for 2024 was the accreditation of the daylily collection at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens in Vienna VA by the American Public Gardens Association (APGA). This is the first daylily collection to be accredited for APGA Plant Collections Network, recognizing excellence in plant collection management. Pat Cochenour was the volunteer daylily coordinator and worked with the horticultural staff at Meadowlark for over 20 years and passed that role over to me in 2010. I know Pat would be thrilled to see how wonderful the daylily display beds there look today, and I am honored to have maintained the legacy of her contributions to Meadowlark.

Starting in 2025, I am converting Pat Cochenour's daylily introductions to a legacy collection. I have limited space for growing my own seedlings and no longer have room to maintain a sales inventory for Pat's introductions. However, I will continue to be a source for Pat's daylilies whenever my display clumps are big enough to divide.

I prefer to ship by USPS Priority Mail ($13 for up to 3 plants).
